Xabi entered the pitch at 63’ and once again was whistled by a portion of the crowd in San Mamés (they also abused Real Sociedad’s striker Agirretxe, because apparently club rivalry means something in national friendlies as well. So of course it makes perfect sense to whistle Xabi, because he played for La Real and for RM).
In an interview before the match, the president of the Basque Football Association said, that people have to thank Xabi that he voluntarily wanted to take part again after he got whistled at the friendly against Venezuela last year.
